Final Peek at the Week
Week of 6/17
Final words and thoughts...
News
Hi everyone,
I would just like to thank you for the opportunity to work with you all this year. Though it hasn't been particularly what I expected, I have learned a lot from this experience, and I am pleased to have had the opportunity to learn with you all.
For those of you staying in the district - I am hopeful that with new leadership and many new staff members comes calm at RISD. I truly wish the district the best - the kids deserve the best there can possibly be for their educations. I have definitely appreciated the traditions you have held strongly to and the advocacy you have for children.
For those of you retiring - a hearty congratulations and appreciation from me for years of service to children. Please take a deep breath and know that you have truly made a difference in the lives of countless children, family, and colleagues.
If you are moving on to another school like I am, I wish you the very best in your new adventures. Though change is scary, I feel you will truly flourish in a new setting.
To all of you - thank you for guiding me through a particularly difficult year. I wish that things had been different, and I look forward to meeting with the incoming administration to share my thoughts about "what could have been" so that they don't have similar pitfalls.
Please enjoy your summers, relax, regroup, take a breath and just BE.
A couple nuts and bolts - I guess there is an end of the year checklist that will be sent out. Please try to tidy your spaces so that our hard working custodians are able to clean. If you are leaving, please turn in your keys before you go to Crystal or Amanda. You should also turn in any of your technology to Nick/Matt.
My official last day is 6/20. If you are inclined to be in touch, you can feel free to email me at juliedonahue0@gmail.com or text/call my cell any time at 802-274-7607.
With warm wishes,
Julie
