Twin Peaks Middle School
Weekly RAM Newsletter
A Brief Note from Dr. Burke
Dear Ram families,
I want to start my message today with an ask for your support. Some of your students are getting very bold when crossing the street before and after school. We are seeing an increase in the number of students failing to listen to the crossing guard or adhering to the crosswalk lights on Twin Peaks. We are also finding that some of you are pausing in the street in front of the school and encouraging your students to walk into the traffic and hop into your car. This is so dangerous and I fear someone is going to get hurt. Please take a few minutes this weekend to discuss your expectations for traffic safety with your student. Sometimes those "yellow lights" are all it takes to bring about the changes we wish to see.
Twin Peaks’ annual Pennies for Patients fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society begins tomorrow and will go through Wednesday, April 1. We hope that fundraising for this important cause will be a rewarding experience for you child, one that emphasizes the importance of social and emotional learning and allows them to help both children and adults in their fight against blood cancer. Your child will come home with their own collection box, and they will bring donations in to their Ram classes. Donations can be spare change, dollar bills, checks made out to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or online at this link: https://events.lls.org/pages/sd/TwinPeaksMiddleSchool-2020. Thank you for your support!
For our 8th graders I want to remind you that tomorrow is your 8th grade photo during 1st RAM. On Tuesday night you don't want to miss PHS 8th Grade Family Night starting at 5pm. Click here for more information. The time has also arrived to place your order for an 8th grade t-shirt for only $15. The forms are due to Mrs. Fenwick in room 920 NO LATER THAN Friday March 20th. Don’t delay, buy one today! Click HERE for the order form.
I will close with a reminder that we have minimum days on Tuesday and Wednesday. School will dismiss at 12:40pm. Traffic will be congested on Tuesday as Tierra Bonita gets outs out early too. Please plan accordingly.
I look forward to seeing all our students tomorrow, and remember, it's a 2/4/6 day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Burke
