Woodland Wows!
Giving Tree
Thank you to everyone who has donated a food item for families who are struggling this holiday season. Students, parents, and staff members haven taken many "leaves" from our giving tree to help others. Through everyone's generosity, many families will enjoy a bountiful holiday season.
Grade Level Baskets
Woodland's Winter Wonderland Baskets
Thank you to all the parents who have sent in supplies to fill baskets for Woodland's Winter Wonderland. To the left are two basket examples. Please reach out to your child's Homeroom Captain for more information.
Sensory Path
Woodland Adds a Sensory Path
Outside the gym, you will see a new sensory path that students in all classes can utitize. Sometimes, we all need a break from routine to engage our bodies. If students and teachers enjoy this, we can think of setting up more paths throughout the school.
Family Meetings
We Love Our Woodland Family
Woodland had it's first family assembly this month. Students sat in a "family style" circle to share kindness messages throughout the grade levels. A second grade kindness activity was highlighted and all students greeted each other in a respecful, polite manner. We plan to have these "Family Meetings" several times throughout the year.
What is That?
Mr. McDonough Shares His Passion
Mr. McDonough is a teacher who loves nature and animals. He takes care of Woodland's acquirium and has other animals he shares with us. Here he is showing a real cyote hide to enhance the second grade Native American curriculum. He had many other natural treasures to share with the students.
Celebrations
Holidays Around the World
During this time of year, it's important to recognize that people celebrate different holidays and practice a variety of traditions. At Woodland, we respect all holiday practices. We wish everyone a happy and peaceful holiday season.
