From Your Stated Clerk
Christian icons are not to be worshipped as Tom K. reminded us recently, but they do represent important symbols. We have some great symbols hanging in the Lakeside windows of the sanctuary. Take note of them next time you are in church.
If you happen to be out by the Historical Marker by Commerce Rd in the morning when the sun is coming up, you can see them highlighted by the sun! That is a sight worth seeing.
Blessings,
Ron K

First Annual Cereal for Kids Collection June 26-July 10
No child should go hungry. However, many kids who rely on receiving a subsidized breakfast or lunch during the school year often face long summer days without enough to eat.
The Mission Committee would like to invite you to participate in our First Annual Cereal for Kids Collection to help feed hungry children in our area this summer. We are looking to support First Presbyterian Church of Pontiac and Open Door Outreach of Waterford.
We will start to accept your donations beginning Sunday June 26th through Sunday July 10. While you are out shopping, why not pick up a box or bag of cereal. Then drop it off near the front benches on Sunday. Just think, if we can get close to 100% participation of each attendee bringing one box, we could donate over 100 boxes of cereal to feed local kids.
Thanks in advance for all of your support

SOS Thank You!
WOW! OLCC,P has done it again! Many thanks to the volunteers who cooked, served, and delivered 146 meals over two days to the SOS guests staying at a motel in Rochester.
And thanks to the very generous members who provided enough money so that we were able to give an additional $500+ to SOS to help defray the costs of housing and feeding them.
We were also able to give 15 cuddly blankets and quilts, made by Helene King and her crew, to kids 13 and under staying at the motel.
The compassion of this congregation, reaching out to those in need in Christ's Name, is truly heart-warming!
Help Wanted! Ushers Needed! Sundays!
We are in need of some new ushers for Sunday services.
We are also looking for a new Sunday Sexton to open the church before services and then to lock up afterward.
Please call Ron Kilbourne 248-363-0778 for more information.

THE RIGHT KIND OF CONFIDENT
The Remarkable Grit of a God-Fearing Woman
by Mary Kassian
Wednesdays, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
July 13 - August 31
What if we stopped placing our confidence in the things of this world -- and instead put our trust in the only One who is truly trustworthy?
Whether you're seeking more confidence or feel you already have it, when you lean into a source of confidence that is unchanging, firm, and trustworthy, you'll become more like the bold, courageous woman God created you to be.
Please join us for this eight-week study. Even if you can't be with us every class, please come when you can. There is a light amount of reading homework each week. Books will be available at our first class and at the church office now.
Please contact Bonnie Horner, 248-880-2327 or bnnhrn@yahoo.com to sign up.
Thank You’s:
Thank you to all our friends at OLCC,P for the great birthday card with their best wishes to me, and for the delicious cake to celebrate my 90th birthday. I appreciate each and every one of you! Dave Dutton
Thank you to the Chancel Choir and Chapel Bells for their kind gift and recognition of my 26 years at OLCCP! Thanks, also, to the congregation for its continued support in allowing me to lead by serving in worship and music. Music is a strange and wonderful gift from God. It is only appropriate that we use this gift to return praise, thanksgiving and worship to the One from whom it came. Thanks very much!
