Principal's Message
Hello Sabre Families,
I hope that you had a very good long weekend and were able to get outside into the unseasonably warm weather. So nice to have that extra day tacked onto the weekend, especially after the busyness of last week. I just love being in a high school where there is always something going on and with this staff and students everyone is very willing to help out.
Open House last Thursday was simply awesome. Our students were so inspiring and genuinely put the school in a good light with their positive energy and sincere appreciation for the overall experience that they are having in high school. Every department was showcased from the arts, to CTS, athletics and academics with students who were engaged and willing to share their high school journey. Special thanks to the Sal leadership and football students, who unwaveringly greeted 1000 guests, gave clear and concise directions and had a smile on their faces the whole night.
Congratulations to the Salisbury Debate/Model UN Team for hosting an Alberta Debate & Speech Association Senior High Debate Tournament this past week. A total of eleven debate teams from various Metro Edmonton Senior High Schools competed against each other in Senior Beginner & Senior Open categories. A special shout-out to the team of Ebin Johnson & William Long who have now qualified for the Metro Edmonton Senior High Debate Regionals next month. Also, a big thank you to all who helped out with the hosting of the tournament
Returning Student Registration:
Returning Student Registration is open now until February 21 and we ask all Salisbury families in grades 10 and 11 to complete the online registration before that time. This initial registration really helps us to plan for the upcoming school year and to staff and to timetable accurately. If your child is in grade 12 and planning on upgrading a few classes during the 2024 - 2025 school year, please contact us in March or April for assistance. There will be no difficulty getting these students in for a class or two.
Graduation
The next grad list will be published on March 4, 2024. To be considered for the grad list, students must be passing high school credential classes with 50% or higher and have a grad plan in place to have earned 100 credits in the correct courses. Let Jeremy Cooper or Liane Schultz know if your ASN does not appear on the list.
An additional day of Grad Photo sessions at Salisbury is on March 1, 2024 and the bookings opened February 1, 2024. To book, please CLICK HERE to access the booking page. You will not need to enter the booking ID, but enter in (Sherwood Park), and (Alberta), then select Salisbury. Bookings time will pop up once you have entered your student's name.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Have a good week!
