March 21- 24, 2016
Greetings, and happy spring! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, stay warm out there on this chilly day!
Pasta for Pennies: Our class has raised $141.95 for the campaign. Remember, all of the proceeds go directly to help children with leukemia and lymphoma. Great work, we are currently the top third class in the school to raise money for this great cause!
Math: Math packets will come home today and our exploration with fractions continues, specifically diving into fractions on a number line. We were able to have one lesson on the number line last week, so this will continue.
ELA: We will continue preparing for the EOG by practicing with reading passages. We will specifically be reading and responding to informational text.
Social Studies: Our studies about the Cherokee and their culture will continue this week.
Daily 5: Last week, I had students choose at least one chapter book from the library during our "Shop for Books" round of Daily 5. Mrs. Brown, our librarian was very helpful with their selections. We will continue to work on building stamina during Daily 5. Practicing stamina during this time will help with getting ready for the EOG.
Thursday (3/24): I will be out of the room on Thursday for the second Math Foundations training along with Mrs. Dechant, and the third grade team. Students need to turn in their Math Packets Thursday, since they will not be in school Friday.
**Shout out to those of you who donated tissues to our room, thanks so much! We are still in need of some more, lets cross our fingers and hope that over the break everyone will get better!**
