SWIM & DIVE: Highlanders Swim and Dive performed exceptionally at the state championship meet at UT in February! The girl's team clinched the title of state champions with boys narrowly taking 2nd and setting four school records and a new STATE record in the 200 medley relay! The girls' team was the first team in UIL history to score 300 points at the state meet. Our swimmers and divers trained tirelessly all season to be able to perform as well as they did in Austin and their hard work undoubtedly paid off. One swimmer even broke his hand in prelims and STILL won 3rd in the state at finals! It was a hard fought meet and the coaching staff is very proud of all of our athletes. Especially our seniors who swam their last race at state: Emma Gugliemello, Mary Nordmann, Abby Pope, Roberto Bonilla - Flores, Aidan Flanagan, Caleb Gallagher, and CJ Sorensen. We've had an amazing season and can't wait to see what next year holds.
BOYS BASKETBALL: Boys Basketball finished their season last Tuesday losing in the State Playoffs to MacArthur HS 67-60. This loss finished our season with a record of 23-9 (13-3). Shey Eberwein was selected by the 13-6A Coaches as MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. Ian Inman was selected 1st Team All District. Joseph Hauser and Aden Dominguez were both selected 2nd Team All District. Lucas Hwang and Ty Sheldon were both Honorable Mention All District. We had 8 Varsity players that were Academic All District: Jude Halbert, Merek Soriano, Aden Dominguez, Lucas Hwang, Alex Naum, Joseph Hauser, Luke Ogburn and Ian Inman. We are very proud of all of our players and their efforts on and off the court this year!!!

TWHS STUDENT COUNCIL: Student Council has been very busy these past few months! January we celebrated the New Year by passing out popcorn bags to the teachers to ‘Pop into the new year!’ We also went to Disney and attended a leadership conference. It was an experience we will never forget! Since cheer was going to state, we gave them all goody bags to wish them luck! In February, we had our annual Lunch Lady Luncheon to celebrate those hardworking ladies! We are currently spreading kindness this month by passing out candy, writing students positive messages, and having a kindness hallway where students can get yummy treats! Student Council has been working hard to make a difference and brighten students days for the past few months and know it has been paying off! Next meeting is Monday March 27 - 6:00 p.m. SR Campus cafeteria
SCUBA CLUB: Our next club meeting is Monday, March 6th, 3-4pm in the senior campus LGI1 (freshmen can take the activities shuttle bus). All are welcome! You do not have to be scuba certified to attend, and snacks will be provided.
Our guest speaker will be Steve Woerner with the W.W. Diving Company. He will give a presentation on the world’s top diving locations.
Remember, each meeting you attend gets you an additional chance to win prizes at our end-of-year meeting/party in May!
TURNING POINT USA: The Turning Point club (conservative club) at The Woodlands High School is a place where students can participate in safe, civil, and engaging political discussion. Anyone is welcome. We yearn to create an environment where people of all political backgrounds can have interesting and impactful conversations. The club also hosts various speakers such as political commentators and politicians, holds discussions and debates, and provides members with an opportunity to present and defend their viewpoints. Join us every Tuesday from 3:00-4:00 in Room 322. Snacks, drinks, and pizza will be provided.
AUTOMOTIVE ENTHUSIAST CLUB: The Automotive Enthusiast Club at TWHS is excited to announce our next Cars & Coffee event on Saturday March 11 at 8am in the 1000s parking lot at the TWHS senior campus! Bring your cool car, truck, or motorcycle out! We will have free coffee and donuts for guests! There will also be a Hot Wheels vendor and a BBQ food truck! OTHER NEWS:
STUDENT LUNCHES: We do not accept food delivery from delivery services during the school day. Services delivering food will be turned away. Pizza delivery, Uber Eats, Door Dash, Grub Hub, etc.. are not permitted.
STUDENT PARKING: Please note that the posted speed limit on the TWHS property is 10 MPH. Please be sure to observe the speed limit as well follow traffic rules such as stopping at intersections and cross paths on the property as well as using blinkers when turning into parking spaces and pathways.
Students assigned parking spaces in the Band Lot (1279-1508) or ROTC Lot (2114-2163) must move their cars by 3 pm every day. Students/Parents are not allowed to cut through the church parking lot. Nor are they allowed to park at the church or the neighborhood across the street. You will be towed. All information about parking can be found on the school website: https://twhs.conroeisd.net/parking/
9th Grade CAMPUS ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL: Please be mindful that parking in neighboring subdivisions to pick up your student(s) at dismissal is not allowed. Cars parked on the street in the neighborhoods could be ticketed.
When utilizing the front drop off zone off Branch Crossing Drive, students should exit the vehicle as soon as the car stops along the sidewalk after the service entrance and not wait to exit at the front door. This allows us to unload several cars at a time, keeping traffic off of Branch Crossing Drive for an extended time and allowing students in the back of the line access to the building.
In the back of the building, off Ashlane Way, our Prevention Officer directs traffic for the safety of our students. We unload multiple cars at once throughout our identified unloading zone. Please adhere to this policy to help the pace of the car rider line.
In both locations it is necessary for students to be ready to exit their car quickly. The drivers must follow the traffic signs. We appreciate your cooperation to help the process move swiftly and provide a safe and timely arrival and departure from the building for our students.
Afternoon pick up is similar. We load multiple cars at once from the right side of the vehicle. The auxiliary location (behind the building) will open after the buses have departed.
LOST AND FOUND ITEMS 9th GRADE CAMPUS: We have accumulated a variety of items in our lost and found. If your student is missing an item such as a lunch kit, water bottle, sweat shirt, or pencil bag to look during their lunch at our lost and found table. Items remaining after March 10, 2023, will be donated.
ATTENDANCE: To report an absence, call:
9th Grade: 832-592-8025
10th Grade: 936-709-1234
11th Grade: 936-709-1236
12th Grade: 936-709-1233
Grades 10-12: 936-709-1213
If your student needs to leave early, please send him or her in with a note to be delivered to the attendance office before school, during lunch or between classes. Doing so ensures the check-out process will be as quick and efficient as possible.
Feel free to call the attendance office with any questions or concerns you may have. We're here to help.

CLINIC NOTES:
If your student has received any vaccines this school year, feel free to send a copy or screenshot to your child’s nurse so that we can have it on file. You can email it to aransley@conroeisd.net for the Senior Campus, or efalcon@conroeisd.net for the Ninth Grade Campus.
If you have a graduating senior or plan to move over the summer, please be sure to request a copy of their vaccine record to be picked up by your student or emailed to you no later than May 25th. We will not be able to fulfill requests made during the summer, and only clinic staff have access to those records.
Colleges and universities require a second dose of the Meningitis (MCV4) vaccine that is received on or after the 16th birthday, since the first dose is only effective for five years. You may also want to discuss the Meningitis B vaccine with your doctor. That is a newer vaccine that is available to children ages 16-18, and it protects against an additional strain of the meningococcal virus.

SCHOOL NEWS
LIBRARY: Before Spring Break is the BEST TIME to clear your library account. If you have lost books that you can't find, it's time to pay for them before the big rush for spring events. You will not be able to pick up prom tickets if your library account has fines on it. To check your account, log into Destiny on the SSO. You can see all your details there. Or swing by the library and we can look it up for you.
When you buy a print card on School Cash Online, don't forget to bring a copy (or picture) of the receipt to the library to pick it up. Print cards are not delivered directly to students.
If you like to read with your ears, or just want to try it, download a FREE audiobook each week starting at the end of April.
