The Meetings in Review
On June 23, a special meeting was held on the subject of enrollment. The Pennsylvania Economy League provided the Board with a presentation that outlined answers to questions that have been asked regarding their report. This presentation can be found in the school board section of the website here.
The June 25 meeting began with two public presentations. First, the Board presented a proclamation to Jack Hilles, who achieved the distinct honor of having earned the highest possible composite score of 36 on the ACT. Along with MHS principal for athletics and activities, Paul Spiewak, the Methacton High School track and field booster organization presented a plaque to Rob Ronzano, who recently retired his position as girls track and field coach.
Following a final budget presentation by Mr. Whiteleather, the Board voted to adopt a final budget of $101,124,091 for the 2015-16 school year. The 2015-2016 budget is balanced without the need for a tax increase, resulting in no change in the millage rate over 2014-15 (27.90). More detail, along with Mr. Whiteleather's final budget presentation, can be found at www.methacton.org/budget.
