Principal Newsletter
From the Desk of Mrs. Riley
September 23, 2021
Dear Parents,
God walks with us through all the seasons of our lives and as we enter the season of autumn, let us take time to thank Him for the beauty that he bestows on us with this season!
It was wonderful to see so many of our school parents back in the school building this week for our Back to School Night. It was edifying to hear all of the kind and positive feedback about the school building and most especially our teachers. They are a dedicated group of individuals who sacrifice much to share their gifts and talents with your children. I am extremely grateful for the new members who have joined our team and how supportive this faculty is of each other. They are truly an amazing group of educators!
Below are some school updates.
- Our Fall Fest Auction scheduled for November 13th will move to a virtual format. This is the first of three major fundraisers that are held each year. This year's fundraisers will be used to reduce the parish subsidy, meet our operational budget and begin the multi year project of renovating all of the school bathroom facilities. Our school community is always so supportive of our fundraising efforts and this support is critical in meeting our goals. We are so grateful for your generosity of time, talent, and treasure!
- Our annual Book Fair will be held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, November 3rd, 4th, and 5th. We are looking for three parent volunteers to set up and manage the Book Fair Days. If you are interested, please email me at briley@olgc.org.
- Please remember that school begins promptly at 8:15. Students should be in class and ready to proceed with their day by this time.
- On Thursday, October 7th, our 4th through 8th grade students will participate in Virtual World Mission Day! This Mission focused morning will include testimony from missionaries around the world, a special message from Archbishop Perez, a virtual praying of the Rosary, games, and much more!
Thank you for your constant support and prayers for our school. I encourage you to continue to support our work as we advance our mission to provide a transformative education steeped in academics and faith to our deserving students. There is no greater investment for forming our future saints than a Catholic education!
Please carefully review this week's newsletter for many reminders and updates. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and for the sacrifices you make each day to send your child(ren) to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.
God's peace,
Mrs. Barbara Riley
