It was wonderful to see all of the families at the Ice Cream Social last night. I would like to thank the PTA and all of our volunteers that helped make this event special to the entire community. What a great way to start off the school year!
School Picture Day will be Tuesday, September 15th. Information will be sent home with children late next week. If you are purchasing pictures, please send the order form and money in the envelope provided no later than Tuesday, September 15th.
It looks like the warm weather will continue through the weekend. I hope you are able to enjoy time outside during this last long weekend of the summer. Have a safe and relaxing Labor Day!

Please send me your back to school 1st day photos for the yearbook. There are 3 ways to do it....
- Send me the photos to firstname.lastname@example.org(if too large let me know and I can get you a flash drive)
- www.treering.com/validate?PassCode=101408508416858 and upload them to the First Day of School Photos folder
- On the Connecting Lincoln Parents Facebook page, add them and make sure you tag me in the photo
Band and Orchestra Registration
Did you know that the District 200 instrumental music program is known throughout Illinois for its excellence? Those 5th graders who do not play an instrument now have the opportunity to sign up! Registration for Band and Orchestra takes place at Hubble and Franklin Middle Schools on Tuesday, September 8, and at Edison and Monroe Middle Schools on Thursday, Sept. 10. Drop in any time between 4:00 and 7:45 p.m. to see the instruments, talk to instructors, and get information about renting instruments. Materials may be ordered at this time that will be delivered to schools in time for the first lessons. Fifth grade students who already play are welcome to participate!
If parents cannot attend these sessions, please contact the band or orchestra teacher from your school. Students younger than 5th grade may also participate in large group rehearsals if they take private lessons outside of school. There is an $80 fee for elementary band or orchestra participation; this is adjusted for students who qualify for exempt or reduced fees. Please contact the instructor for more information! The band director at Lincoln is Mrs. Carr at Jill.Carr@cusd200.org ; the string orchestra director is Mrs. Johannesen at Jeanne.Johannesen@cusd200.org.

Crossing-guard Volunteers Needed!!
We are in need of crossing-guard volunteers for the Dawes crosswalk on the north side of the school.
This group is made up entirely of parent volunteers.
Parents of kindergartners and first graders should consider volunteering as this is the main drop off location for those grade levels.
Please consider volunteering 1x per week or as little as 2x per month. Choose whatever day works best for you! Choose morning or after-school shift. If interested, please contact Julie Guerin at email@example.com.
