Mini Miners Preschool Post

Happy New Year! π₯π
Welcome Back from winter break! Although the break was full of family, friends, rest and fun, I've missed seeing everyone.
January and February are going to be extremely important for you and our program. I'll be sending out quite a bit of communication, so please make sure to open all the newsletters and emails.
I will be sending out a separate email about enrolling your child for next fall. Edith Teter Preschool is opening up registration for the fall in alignment with UPK enrollment dates. The state has not posted specific dates yet, but "sometime in February" they will open "Pre-Registration" for current families in our program.
"Pre-Registration (estimated February - March)
With an eye towards continuity-of-care, a pre-registration process would be available for families with children currently enrolled, children with siblings currently enrolled, or with a family member currently employed by a participating provider." Directly from the UPK website.
Again, continuing to align our program with UPK, open enrollment to the public will begin "sometime in March." They have not provided specific dates, but we will be ready.
"Family Matching (estimated April - June)
For families looking for a new preschool provider, the Family Matching process would offer families a simplified opportunity to be matched with a βjust-right fit,β based on their top choices from a wide variety of high-quality, licensed school-based, community-based, and home-based providers participating in Colorado Universal Preschool. Families will find a one-stop-shop to browse providers, select top choices, review eligibility for the program, and submit an application for funding via upk.colorado.gov." Directly from the UPK website.
For those families who will be graduating to Kindergarten next fall, we will be providing a Kindergarten Readiness Parent Informational Meeting at the beginning of May. There will be more information coming your way about enrollment as well. I'll keep you posted!
As always, I'm here for you if you have any questions, concerns or great ideas!

What is Parents as Teachers?
Our PAT program has been around since 1998! It is a phenomenal free program for families with children prenatal to 5 years old. Our Parent Educators come alongside parents and caregivers as a support, coach, educator and cheerleader for you as your walk through your child's early years.
I began as a Parent Educator in South Park in 2002 and enrolled as a parent the same year for my son. My son's teacher came to my house and I saw my parenting skills improve as well as enjoyed the enthusiasm of my son's anticipation waiting for his teacher to arrive and during her visit!
Feel free to connect with Ms. Sarah Shaw or Heather Hall for more information or if we can answer any questions!
Here is a sweet little intro video from School District LSR7 and it applies to our program as well. Enjoy.
