Title I Parent Meeting
The purpose of this meeting is to inform parents of our school's participation in Title I, explain the requirements of Title I, and explain the rights of parents to be involved in Title I decision-making.
Being a Title I school means that we receive federal funding (Title I dollars) to supplement the school’s existing programs. These dollars are used for: instructional support; purchasing of supplemental staff, programs, materials, supplies; and conducting parent involvement meetings, training, and activities.
The importance of the first and last 15 minutes of the day!
In the first 15 minutes of the day, teachers review the agenda for the day, collect homework, provide feedback, hold Morning Meetings, and communicate important information for the day. Students who are tardy not only miss this important set-up but may interrupt this important time period for others, as teachers try to catch up tardy students on what they've missed.
In the last 15 minutes of the day, teachers wrap up the day's learning, pass out fliers for parents, check homework documents, and review the next steps for students. When students are removed from class at this time, they miss this important communication and disrupt the instruction for others.
Parents who need to pick up their students prior to the end of school for appointments or other important events are requested to pick them up a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the end of the school day. Parents who request their children within the last 15 minutes of the day will be requested to wait until dismissal.
Thank you for supporting your own students' success, as well as that of others!
