Principal's Notes and Highlights
Happy Friday!
AND 1
I met a friend for an early morning breakfast this past week. We were talking about our children and he shared with me the following story.
His daughter came home from school and was talking about her best friend. She is a first grade student at another BCSC school. After school, she asked her parents, "Why does her friend have to sleep on the kitchen table instead of a bed like I do?"
It's not a very long story, but one that caused me to pause and reflect. We are about to enter the holiday season. One filled with Black Friday, gifts, feasts, family, and fun. Unfortunately, for some Thanksgiving Day is just another Thursday. It will be a season without gifts, feasts, and fun. A week off from school won't be filled with going to the movies, sleep overs or family activities.
So I have a challenge for us. AND 1. This is not a reference to the mid-90's basketball themed clothing line. Rather a challenge to find a way, if able, to make this season great for you, your family, and 1 more. Maybe it's inviting an extra friend to hang out one afternoon. Maybe it's picking up 1 Angel Tree while you're shopping. Maybe you have another idea of how to make a difference. It doesn't have to be another student at CSA Lincoln. It is about serving our community. We have the ability to positively impact the lives of so many. If able, I hope you accept the challenge.
- Congratulations to our LEGO Rebotics team who placed 3rd out of 22 teams this past weekend. They earned the opportunity to compete at the state championships in two weeks! According to Mr. Wright, this is the first time we have had a team make it to state in many years. We are very proud of them!
- Our Spell Bowl team competed last night! They worked hard and learned a lot about the experience. Great job ladies!
- I've included a video from the Girl UP! event that took place awhile back. Several of our young ladies attended the event and shared with me how much they learned.
Have a great week and we will see you on November 27th!
