Foxy Flyer
Week of November 13th
Principal's Message
Dear Farragut Families,
I am so excited to join this wonderful community. In my brief time here, I have felt a warmth and kindness that has overwhelmed me. As we move into the holiday season, I am asking our students to explore their gratitude for the people in their lives who have an impact. This might be teachers, staff, friends, pets, and of course, yourselves.
As I settle in, I want to share my gratitude for Mrs. Dodd and Mrs. Mohr, who have been amazing. I am excited next week to begin scheduling one on one meetings with all of our teachers and staff and begin listening. It is important for me to also listen to you as parents and I would like to invite all of you to my first Coffee and Chat on November 17th. Lastly, I also want to prioritize listening to our student council and understanding their perspectives. I have set a goal for myself to develop a plan of action to push us closer to reaching our full Pawtential.
Have a great weekend,
Mr. Medinger

We Are So Proud
Collaboration in 5th Grade
Ms. Manglinong, Ms. Noonan, and Ms Vy work together to provide our 5th graders with everything they need. Collaboration at its best. In Ms. Manglinong's social studies class all 5th grade students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in history, learning about indigenous peoples to tracing the routes of early explorers.
In science class with Ms. Noonan all 5th graders learn to develop models to describe the movement of matter among plants, animals, decomposers, and the environment. Students are encouraged to wonder and notice things around our world.
Any day you walk into Ms. Vy's math class you will see evidence of 5th grade students displaying sense-making behaviors, listening and sharing their thinking, turning and talking for first steps to generate a solution plan. It's amazing to witness students analyzing information in problems and using and recalling multiple strategies they have learned throughout their years at Farragut.
Each expert teacher focuses on creating the most engaging lessons in social studies, science, and math. This creates a sense of unity among our teachers and students. A big thank you to Ms. Manglinong, Ms. Noonan, and Ms Vy for their dedication and support.

ParentSquare
We are excited to announce that CCUSD has adopted a new form of school-to-home communication called ParentSquare. This platform keeps families informed and encourages greater connection with CCUSD. All District and school information will now be sent through ParentSquare. Please take a moment to read the Parents & Guardians Getting Started Guide to get set-up.
Meal Applications
We need your help in submitting Free and Reduced Lunch Meal Applications
In order to support future funding for our district, we are asking all Farragut families to submit the Free and Reduced Lunch Meal Application.
Why is this important:
By submitting an application it can help your school with much funding for the classrooms.
If their student(s) qualify for Free or Reduced Price Meals, the household may be eligible to receive discounts on their utilities and internet services.
Their students will receive discount pricing for tests, such as ACT and SAT exams.
Increased participation in the Meal Application form district wide helps with additional, much needed funds.
