CISL Update
Sept. 17, 2018
WE STILL NEED HOST FAMILIES! Earn CISL points!!
We have Italian Students arriving next Friday, Sept. 28 for 9 days and we still need MORE THAN 10 host families!! I Sincerely hope that we can come through and provide each arriving student with their own American host family! I believe in you - we can do this!!!
(we still also need hosts for France Oct. 15-28 and Germany Oct. 21 - Dec. 1: 6 wks. = up to 20 points)
Hosting an international student is a WONDERFUL opportunity for your whole family to have a fun cultural experience and your student can earn LOTS of CISL points for each experience!
The basic expectations for hosting are pretty straightforward. You provide:
- a bed (can be in a shared room with same gender child)
- transportation to/from school (they will accompany your child to school and either spend the day in class shadowing your student or attend excursions with their group)
- meals (breakfast and dinner with your family and either packed lunch or money to buy school lunch - whatever your child would normally eat for lunch)
- payment for any activities/excursions that you invite the exchange student to participate in with your family (ex: going out to ice cream, weekend trip, museum visits, going to the movies, etc.)
This is the exact same hospitality (and more!) that our Hylton students receive when we travel to stay with International families at our sister schools in other countries.
Let's keep building these great relationships and growing our global family! Contact campagbg@pwcs.edu with questions
