ClearPass and APS Wireless Networks
The APS-District SSID is designed for District owned machines with the Windows operating system as well as District owned Chromebooks. The APS-Login SSID is designed for Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) such as laptops, tablets, smart phones that students and staff bring to our campuses. Other devices that will use APS-Login include District owned Apple products, Android products, and other third party devices. For these devices to have full resource access we will need to have entered the unique hardware address each device has called a MAC/Physical/Wifi address into ClearPass. ClearPass will ask for user login/ network credentials if the District owned device has not been entered into the system correctly.
Finally the APS-VISITOR SSID is designed for true visitors to any APS campus building. This will include parents, contractors, and anyone else who does not have an APS login/network credentials. This network does not allow access to internal resources including printers and servers but does allow Internet access.
NOTE: The MAC address/Wifi address/Physical address will only have characters A-F and 0-9
If you have questions about your wireless networks or which one to use, feel free to contact the APS Service Desk.

Ongoing Project - Print server conversion: Print Services and IT are preparing to simplify and improve the way we print. We are implementing a new print server and printer management system that will change the way that we recognize network printers. Instead of printing directly to a device that has been installed on your machine, you’ll print to a print server and have access to all of the printers in your department / building.
You will no longer have to manually install each printer on your workstation. The new software solution will enable us to monitor all printing across the network. We will have detailed information about print habits and preferences. This will enable us to make better decisions regarding the way we print and help us make better choices going forward with how we choose to manage our printing in the future.
