Causes of War
- Impressments, when British captured/ kidnapped American sailors.
- Lousiana Purchase of 1803, Americans migrated westward and conflicted with Native Americans
- War hawks, Men who supported the war of 1812; Henry Clay, Daniel Webster, and John C. Calhoun.
- British and Native American alliances, settlers began to believe that the British were stirring up Native resistance to frontier settlement. The War of 1812 broke the resistance of Tucumseh's resistance. Tucumseh's allied with British as the War began.
