CLIMB Center Opens
Tailored Assistant Principal Symposium
Dr. Cindy Bennett shared the Tailored Symposium for Assistant Principals with the Board of Education. The AP's organized themselves into four teams and presented collective impact projects that aligned with district priorities. The district selected two projects, each funded at $12,500 each. Teams had to identify the issues and have data to back up their cause. One project that was selected focuses on literacy and the other on parent engagement. Each team developed their budget, maintains data on their work and must fully implement the project, which will have a direct impact. The AP's are also receiving leadership CEUs through the Tailored AP program.
Summer Program Plan set for 2023
Superintendent Dr. Cindy Bennett shared the Summer Program Plan with the Board of Education. The summer program will afford our students the chance for remediation if they scored not proficient on the End-of-Grade or if the student completed and failed a course with an End-of-Course assessment for the 2022-2023 school year. The Extended School Year will offer students the opportunity to learn additional standards, as well as, the chance to reapply what they have learned and provide evidence of their comprehension of the content. Assessments include Grade 3-8 Math, Grades 4-8 Reading, Grade 5 Science, Grade 8 Science, Biology, Math 1, Math 3 and English 2. Additionally NCEXTEND1 testing is included.
