PANTHER PROWL
CIMARRON MIDDLE SCHOOL MARCH 2019
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Cimarron Families,
Welcome to March! While our weather still feels somewhat like winter, things at Cimarron Middle School are moving forward into spring! Here are a few items for you to know before we March into Spring Break.
Next week, we will celebrate SWINE WEEK Common Thread Pivot, Inc., with fun events and dress-up days. For a $5 donation your young scholar may dress up:
Monday in PJs
Tuesday as a Tourist
Wednesday is Jersey/Pink it Out Day
Supporting Swine Week’s Common Thread, Pivot, Inc., will be a fun way for our student body and educators to join together and support a wonderful cause. Pivot, Inc.. is a non-profit organization which provides a turning point for youth.
It’s that time of year again, our state tests begin in April and we are in need of test monitors. If you can be a test monitor, please follow the link here or call my secretary, Robbi Kinnaird at 726-5501 and let her know.
Please make sure your young scholar is in school every day possible during the month of April. Your help is needed to schedule appointments for after school or after testing. Absences cause additional stresses during testing. We strive to keep the daily rhythm as undisturbed as possible. If you have specific questions in regards to testing, please contact Mr. Link Lowe, Assistant Principal and testing coordinator.
As our year moves forward, continue to work collaboratively with us to ensure your child(ren) reach the highest potential of learning. Your continued partnership is greatly appreciated!
Gabe Schmidt
Principal

Edmond Public Schools will host its annual public forum from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 14 in the Board of Education Room at the district’s Administrative Center, 1001 W. Danforth. The forum is an opportunity for district and site level administrators and school board members to listen to ideas, accolades or concerns from parents, students and community members. “This is an opportunity for us to listen to feedback in an effort to improve our programs and services,” Superintendent Bret Towne.
There is no preregistration required. Patrons should sign up the night of the event and will be called to the podium in the order in which they are received. Each speaker is limited to five minutes. Board members and administrators take notes during the forum but do not engage in dialogue and no votes are taken.
Due to state and federal privacy laws, patrons may not discuss personnel issues, student disciplinary actions and contract negotiations.

SUPPORT EMHS SWINE WEEK 2019 COMMON THREAD
For 34 years, EMHS students, along with vertical Middle Schools and Elementary Schools have raised over $6.5million for charity. Each year the Middle Schools raise money during Swine Week to support the Common Thread, an organization chosen by all three high schools to receive 5% of each school's final total.
This year's Common Thread is Pivot Inc., an organization whose purpose is to advocate, educate and guide youth and families to make a positive difference in their lives.
