Director's Newsletter

From the Director
This week flew by in a flurry of activity. Students put great effort and focus into their MAP tests on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday despite of some pretty frightening thunder storms!
On Tuesday, SCBS news interviewed Mr. Lyke who, sadly, will be returning to the United States at the end of this school year. In addition to MAP, several students participated in the CEMC Math Competition during Long House on Thursday. Grade 7 and 8 students are staying positive as they prepare for final exams and their big PBL exhibition at the end of the school year.
Final Exams: With only three weeks of school left CDS Middle School students and teachers are determined to finish strong! I've included a link to the Term 5 final exam schedule below. Exams will take place on May 28th, 29th, and 30th. It's very important that all students make it to school on exam days. 5th and 6th grade students will follow the regular bell schedule, except on the 28th when they take their World Language final.
Athletics Banquet: Another important event coming up next week is the Middle School Athletic Banquet. This will be a special evening in celebration of our MS athletes and coaches and their hard work and sportsmanship throughout the school year. The event will take place between 5:00 - 7:00pm in the new Phoenix Cafe on May 24th.
Basketball@CDS: Tomorrow from 9:00am - 12:00pm CDS will host the MS KAIAC White Division Tournament. The Boys Basketball team will compete in the new Phoenix Gym, while the Girls Basketball team compete in the gym near the middle school wing. It's not often that we host MS athletic events---It would be great to see lots of families show up to support our athletes. The Phoenix cafe will be open for snacks and drinks. Go Phoenix!
Summer Art Camp
In closing, the last day to enroll in our Summer Art Camp is Monday, May 21st. Click here to complete the enrollment form. Please contact Mrs. Koetje for more information: kbouman@daltonschool.kr
Have a great weekend!
