What's New at Walnut?
January 3, 2021
Principal's Message
Our three learning models--blended, remote, and SHINE--will all begin again on Monday, January 4th. If your child has been exposed to someone with COVID, or if they have symptoms or a positive diagnosis themselves, be sure to contact us at the school office ASAP. The office staff will advise you about length of quarantine and how to access online schoolwork. We take care of each other as a school community by following safety guidelines, reporting positive cases/exposures, and not coming to campus if we are sick. Students and staff in blended cohorts will still be actively screened each day upon entry, wear masks while at school, wash hands at set intervals, and remain 6 ft apart. Honestly, I have been very impressed with the way our blended students have followed the new school procedures so well!
If anything changes regarding on-campus learning, I will let everyone know right away. We will continue to notify all Walnut families if there has been a positive case on campus--maintaining confidentiality, of course.
Thank you all for your support and diligence. We will take on 2021 together!
Kind Regards, Mrs. Aileen Wall

Focus on the Arts for January & February
A new year brings new Focus on the Arts (FOTA) lessons! January and February materials were included in the latest art packet sent home with blended students or picked up by remote/SHINE students. Please keep your FOTA art materials in a safe and accessible place so they are ready for student projects. We have a new Virtual Gallery Link where students can post photos of their artistic creations - https://bit.ly/3nowmnG. Submit a photo or see what other students are creating in 2021. Thank you to TOArts AccessArts and Conejo Schools Foundation (CSF) for sponsoring the 20-21 FOTA program! Thank you, also, to parent Amber Hindley for volunteering to assemble the packets. Please contact Mrs. Wall or the school office if you are willing to help, too.
