What is Transition Night?
Transition Night is an opportunity for incoming freshmen and their families to learn more about Mountain View's athletics, activities, and clubs. There will be informational sessions discussing Freshman Academy and Parent/Guardian "Need to Knows." Families will have an opportunity to take a tour of the building and students will receive their Class of 2026 t-shirts. Pizza will also be served!
Who should attend?
Current 8th-grade students and their parents/guardians who plan on attending MVHS
How long is the event?
The event will take place from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm but will be set up in an "Open House" format where families choose what activities to attend.

Athletics and Activities Fair
Location: Gymnasium
Description: Coaches and activity sponsors will each have a table in the gym to answer your questions and share information. Go to the tables that interest you and get involved right away!
School Tours
Sign Up Location: Outside Main Lobby
Description: Interested in taking a tour of MVHS? Sign up outside of the main lobby for a tour. Student leaders and freshman seminar teachers will be taking small groups into the building for a guided tour. Tours will be available throughout the night.
Informational Session: Freshman Academy
Location: Auditorium
Description: Principal Jane Harmon and Freshman Assistant Principal Don Kotnik will discuss Freshman Academy and Freshman Seminar. This informational session will take place three times throughout the night, so pick the one that fits your schedule.
Informational Session: Parent/Guardian Need to Knows
Location: Library
Description: Media Specialist Jen Bass and Principal Secretary Suzy Hass will discuss parent/guardian "need to knows" including commonly asked questions and Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This informational session will take place three times throughout the night, so pick the one that fits your schedule.
Class of 2026 T-Shirts
Location: Outside Lawn
Description: Visit Marty Barton outside to receive your Class of 2026 t-shirt. Students must see Marty and fill out one of our Mountain Lion Paws before receiving a t-shirt.
Food!
Location: Outside Lawn
Description: We will be serving free pizza throughout the night, so please stop by and grab a slice!
