Principal's Message
Kia Ora,
It is wonderful to see that we have a large number of our children being confirmed and making their First Holy Communion. Fifty-nine of our students have been preparing for this for a couple of months now. In two weeks some of our students will be making their First Holy Communion at St Michael’s Church and another group at St Mary’s Church. Please keep our children in your prayers as they get closer to this very special occasion.
This Friday the school is celebrating Pink Shirt Day with a mufti day. This is a day of solidarity in standing together against bullying and in support of tolerance, kindness and inclusion. If you would like to read the story about how it all began, follow this link:

Children can wear pink clothes and if you can manage it, a gold coin donation will go to the NZ Mental Health Foundation.
Our Winter Sports have started. Thanks to the many parents who have stepped up to be coaches and managers. The generosity of your time to do this is much appreciated. Please make sure that your child attends all practices and that they turn up to their games on time.
Now that students are finishing the school day at 3pm, the traffic flow in the church car-park chokes for ten minutes. I think the reason for this is that fewer people are parking their cars and walking into the school to pick up their children. I would encourage you to use the church car-park bordering Ranolf Street, or the car-park next to the church car-park, and come in and pick up your child and walk them to your car. Please help us to keep school pick-ups safe for our tamariki.
A reminder that we have a teacher only day coming up. We will be joining JPC for their Teachers’ only day on the 7th of June. The focus is ‘Matariki’. There will be no school for children on this day. If you require child care you can contact Maryanne Rolling on 0211 215599.
Have a great week.
