Origin of Salsa
Many believe Salsa originated from the Cubans. Many Cubans and Puerto Ricans fled to cities of the U.S. including New York, because of many political and social pressures and restraints. They brought the dance with them and blended it with other dances brought there.
Definition of Salsa
The term "Salsa" was created in New York. The dance has an Hispanic origin. Salsa was created by the mix of other Latin dances including: Mambo, Cha cha cha, Danzón, and ect. Salsa is a couples dance.
