Student Schedule Information
August 2016
Frequently Asked Questions
I have received a few emails with the same questions, so I thought a quick newsletter may help to get the information out.
- When can students pick up their schedules? Student schedules will be distributed during student orientation on August 12. See times below.
- Can students pick up their schedules the week/days before orientation? We are not allowed to give out schedules before orientation.
- What if a student cannot attend orientation? When can they get their schedule? After orientation, all schedules not given to students in attendance will be available at the high school office after 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12. Students are also welcome to pick up their schedule Monday morning, August 15. Doors will be unlocked at 7:30 a.m.
- When can students bring school supplies? It is not required that students bring school supplies before school starts or even that first day of school. Although, once students get their schedules at orientation, they are welcome to walk through the high school, meet the teachers, and put things in their lockers.
- Do students need to buy a lock for their locker? NO, all locks for student lockers must be a school issued lock. Most students do not use locks, but students are welcome to request a lock through the high school office after orientation or during the first week of school.
- If a student has changed their mind about an elective choice, can they request that schedule change now? Yes, request for schedule changes can be sent via email to my school email address, tbreeding@sjbulldogs.org. Please be aware that not all schedule changes may be possible due to scheduling conflicts or certain classes already filled to the max. The deadline for schedule changes is August 19th. I am not allowed to make schedule changes after August 19th.
- When can 9th-12th grade students sign up for fall, winter, and spring sports? Athletic Director, Coach Brent Bruich, will speak at each orientation about all of the sports offered at St. Joseph and how to sign up. If you have questions about basketball tryouts, please contact Coach Brent Bruich this week.
- How do students sign up for one of the school clubs? St. Joseph has many opportunities for students to be active participants in many clubs and service projects. Club sponsors will be announcing how to sign up during the first couple weeks of school.
