Component 2A

Post the Common Core State Standard and the objective with by statement on the board in plain view each morning. Also, make sure you communicate the objective to students several times throughout the lesson. Each student in your classroom should know what they are learning and why they are learning it and be able to articulate it.

Emergency Lesson Plans

It is time to review your lesson plans to make sure you have five days of lesson plans on file. Make sure the student work tasks are rigorous and that they are reflective of what you are teaching in your classroom. Also, make sure you include any special notes or reminders that will be helpful to the substitute teacher.

Attendance Graphs

Attendance graphs for the month of January will be available in the main office beginning tomorrow, January 13, 2016. Please post the graph outside your door and update it weekly with your attendance percentage. This is a great tool for communicating attendance goals and expectations to students.

Update and Thank You

I am feeling better day by day and fully expect to return to Reavis very soon. I'd like to thank all of you for your hard work and dedication to the students and families of Reavis. It's good to know that everything is running smoothly in my absence which speaks to the culture and climate of Reavis. You all are a great team. You are what makes Reavis the amazing place that it is and your hard work and dedication will get us to Level 1+. Remember, "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work"!

Make sure students are dismissed promptly at 3:45 p.m. Parents and/or guardians are waiting to pick up their children and should not have to wait. Ending your day on time is imperative. If you need additional support with this please do not hesitate to reach out to me or Mrs. Vaughn.
