The students will:

  • generate a list of questions for an entomologist/garden expert to better understand why Monarchs are declining and what we can do to help
  • Skype with an entomologist
  • design a butterfly garden for our school
  • research what plants belong in a butterfly garden
  • measure the square footage of their proposed garden
  • listen to a live speaker from a local butterfly sanctuary
  • write persuasive letters to ask for grant money for a butterfly garden
  • write another verse about saving the butterflies for the song
