A NOTE FROM DR. HITCHMAN:
I would like to start by thanking those students and parents who have been able to join us for one of our parent coffee and chats or student forums. We appreciate your input and feedback regarding activities, events, and ideas you would like to see implemented at Lightridge. One of our firm beliefs is to create a school where students, families, and staff want to be. We are extremely fortunate to have students, families, and staff who are invested in Lightridge High School and are willing to support the programs and opportunities we will have available when we open our doors in August. Our next student forum will be held on Tuesday, July 7 from 4:00-5:00 pm and our next parent coffee and chat will be held on Friday, July 10 from 8:00-9:00 am. Both events will be held virtually. The links for both events are listed below.

As we approach the start of the 2020-201 school year, we are definitely navigating uncharted waters. One of our main goals is to provide a safe and supportive environment for our students and staff. My preference, along with everyone else I believe, is to open school with 100% in-person learning. While we may not know when that will occur, please know the Lightridge staff is committed to meeting not only the academic needs but also the social, emotional, and mental needs of our students in any type of learning environment. I look forward to the day when the Lightridge community can come together under the same roof and celebrate the opening of an innovative, responsive, and united school. When more information regarding the start of the school year is provided to me, I will pass it along to you. Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter and I look forward to speaking with you at one of our upcoming events.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ryan Hitchman

Meet some of our coaches!
- If you were in 8th grade this past school year and want to expunge a high school credit course, this paperwork is due NO LATER THAN AUGUST 15. You can find the Permission Click form here.
- The school counselors are off contract during the summer and will return on August 5. If you have any questions over the summer, please contact Mrs. Campbell.
- Several reminders regarding course selection changes were sent out from April-June. The deadline of June 1 was extended to June 5 to accomodate a reminder email that went out to all parents. At this time, there are no additional changes being made to courses for next year. Given the need to possibly work in a hybrid model of in class and online instruction next year, the master schedule will be a time consuming task to accommodate student requests and make courses work for every student.
The PTSO for Lightridge High School had a working committee create bylaws for the 2020-21 school year. We are now in search of a PTSO Board which includes the President, First Vice President of Fundraising, Second Vice President of Events, Secretary, Treasurer, Student Spokesperson, SCA Liaison, Student at Large #1, and Student at Large #2. The descriptions for each position are in the attached by-laws.
The nominating committee is excited to hear from you! Please fill out the following Google Form Survey to express your interest. We will close the survey on July 8th, and the committee will contact you with further information.

Thank you for your support of LHS and the LHS PTSO!
Check out the new Lightridge Clubs and Activities page. This list is not complete and we will be updating it regularly.
If there is a club you are interested in that is not yet on the form, please be sure to fill out the interest survey. Once we are into August and the 2020-2021 school year, we will be taking applications for new clubs.
