Year 8 Team Report
Year 8 boys football update: The boys have had a difficult start to the season as games have been few and far between! This second round cup tie versus Newminster (Morpeth) was a chance to kick start the 2013-14 season and they did just that. Led by captain Walton they were quick out of the blocks and it wasn't long before Connick rattled the underside of the crossbar (no Russian linesman or goal line technology to help the faultless referee). It was Taylor who scored first for CCC and this was followed by 2 from Connick, another from Taylor, an OG and a fantastic strike from Wilkes all before half time. Smith scored in the second half from a corner before Newminster made their response of 3 goals but the game was all but over. 7-3. CCC proceed to the next round without really getting into second gear. Well played boys; the season starts now!
