Community Day

Sunday, Dec. 16th 2012 at 12-4pm

AltCity, located on Floor M of the Montreal Building on Hamra Street, Beirut, Lebanon

Organized by AltCity & Migrant Workers Task Force (MWTF), Community Day is the culmination of a series of events taking place at the City!

  • Ann Megalla, a multimedia producer and anthropologist, is empowering 16 migrant workers to tell their stories through photo essays conveying their daily lives.

  • Joumana Ibrahim, a graphic designer specialized in information design, is showing 18 local graphic designers how to transform research on migrant workers’ rights into striking infographics suitable for publication.

Community Day also marks the end of the year for MWTF’s language and IT classes for migrant workers. These classes take place every Sunday at AltCity and will resume in January (check out some photos here).

Join us in bringing together Lebanon’s diverse communities to celebrate diversity and demand universal human rights!

The workshops, Community Day, and the exhibition are part of AltCity’s “Media for Human Rights” program that is supported by the Netherlands Embassy in Lebanon.
