Tell us about your Family/Pets
On January 1, Jim and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary. Our family includes, daughter Emily who works for DCFS; son-in-law, Luke, employed in Behavioral Health at OSF; and 11 year old granddaughter, Lucy, a dancer and violinist. Our son Josh is a machinist at General Machine and Grind in Aledo and 5 year old grandson, Dakota, is in kindergarten at Apollo Elementary. He loves art, just like his Daddy.
What are your hobbies?
I love most any type of fitness activity, but focus especially on cardio workouts like running and circuit training. In the good weather months, Jim and I spend a lot of time boating on the Mississippi River. I love to read, drink wine with good friends, and make memories with kids and grandkids.
Share a fun fact:
I water skied on the Mississippi River at 60 years of age!
What is one goal you hope to accomplish this year?
I am retiring from Knox in June, and hope to go on to teach sociology as an adjunct professor at Carl Sandburg College.
What is your community involvement outside of Knox?
I am a member of Altrusa International Club of Galesburg. Our group participates in several service activities such as keeping the book shelf stocked at the train station, contributing supplies to Safe Harbor, and providing holiday gifts for the Knox County Child Advocacy Center. I have volunteered at Gale Elementary School's Field Day for four years.
What is your favorite Knox College Memory?
Graduating! I once thought a college degree was unattainable, but proved myself wrong. A close second was seeing President Obama speak in the Fieldhouse.
