ILEARN Begins Monday!
3rd and 4th grade students will be taking the statewide ILEARN assessments over the next few weeks. To ensure students are able to test in their most comfortable environments, attendance is critical on assessment days. Testing will take place on the following days:
Monday, April 22
Wednesday, April 24
Monday, April 29
Tuesday, April 30
Wednesday, May 1
Friday, May 3 (4thGrade Only)
Monday, May 6 (4thGrade Only)
All students will need their fully charged iPad AND a pair of headphones/earbuds to test. Please make sure that their iPad gets plugged in each day after school. We recommend having your student keep the headphones at school throughout the testing window.
All iPads need to have the newest IOS update installed and must have the AIR Secure app. Please take the time to go into settings to check for any update warnings.
As you know, our students have been working very hard to grow as readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists. We want students to come to school confident, well-rested, and prepared to show their best work!
Thank you for your support!

CRE Field Day
It is that time of year again to get organized and prepare for CRE Field Day! This year Field Day will be on Wednesday, May 22nd. We do have a rain date in case rain causes us to cancel. There is a separate sign up for our rain date. May 23rd rain date volunteers will not be needed if the 22nd date is not cancelled. Feel free to sign up for either day or both.
There will be 6 stations each class will get to enjoy during their grade level Field Day time. Each grade level participating in Field Day will have their own hour outside in the field . We need your help to supervise and run a station. Our PE teacher, Mrs. Fox, will have everything you need to make your station fun and successful; all you have to do is show up. Our volunteers for Field Day are very much appreciated and we couldn't do it without you! Come out and enjoy Field Day with your student and the rest of CRE. Together, we can make it a day to remember!

Bike to School Day and Shoe Drive (May 3-10)
How many shoes do you have at home? Are any of them too old, too small, out of style, or just not wearable? DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY! We want your shoes!
As part of our Make a Difference Project, we learned that almost one billion people worldwide do not have appropriate footwear. Shoes are often part of a school or work uniform, so without shoes, children and adults have a harder time getting an education or contributing to the household income. Lack of shoes also leads to poor foot health, diseases, and injuries.
Changing Footprints is a local organization that is making a difference in Indiana and throughout the world and we want to join their effort. They collect shoes of any kind and any condition. Shoes that are too damaged to wear are sent to Nike Grind and turned into playground surfaces and artificial fields. Nothing ends up in a landfill!
Our goal is to collect 1,000 pairs of shoes! We learned that each American household has 40-60 pairs of shoes. Surely, you can each find at least one used pair of shoes to donate to this cause.
Ways to Donate -- Bring your shoes to:
- Spring Carnival on May 3 (5:30-8:00pm)
- Bike to School Day on May 8 (see attached permission slip)
- Shoe Drive from May 3-10 at CRE
WHAT CAN I DONATE? ANY thing that fits on a foot, in ANY condition, ANY size.
Ice skates, dance shoes, football shoes, stilettos, slippers, crocs, swim shoes, snow boots, shoes with wheels, dress shoes, orthopedic shoes, baby shoes, shoes with holes in them. We are happy to take new shoes but it’s even better if you clean out your closet and ask neighbors for their unneeded shoes.
