A Message from Principal Nixon--Week of November 11, 2019
Dear Northwoods Families,
First and foremost, I'd like to thank all of our active and retired members of the Armed Forces. The Northwoods community sincerely appreciates your service to our community and our country!
Secondly, as many of you may have heard, we exceeded our $12,000 fundraising goal! Wit your help, we raised $13,723!! On behalf of all the staff at Northwoods, please know how appreciative we are for your contributions. 100% of that money stays at Northwoods and will help fund critical programs and initiatives. I'm happy to announce that students in first grade earned the most money, so they will get to pie me in the face on Wednesday. Be on the lookout for pictures of that event!
Tomorrow morning the Northwoods staff will be gathering to recognize our 2019-2020 Teacher-of-the-Year. This year, we have four candidates that were nominated by their peers for this special recognition. The candidates are: Shannon Garrison (2nd Grade), Teresa Combs (3rd Grade), Mandie Bodanzio (4th Grade), and Elda McGrath (ESL). Please join me in congratulating each of these amazing teachers. I am honored to have the privilege of working alongside them each day!
Lastly, please take a few minutes to review your child's report card. The paper report card is yours to keep, but please sign and return the report card envelope. We will continue to use those throughout the school year.
