Attendance
As a friendly reminder, all in-person students not physically present for school will be counted as absent, even if they log in virtually. All virtual-only students who do not log into their morning zoom call will also be counted absent, even if they turn in work during the day. If your child will be absent or late, please contact the school office at 317-594-4160 and leave a message on the attendance line with specifics regarding the reason and/or any symptoms of illness. If we do not hear from you, the absence will be considered “unexcused.” If your child is out due to COVID-related reasons, attendance is coded differently and will not be counted as an “absence.” If you have any questions or extenuating circumstances, please let us know.
Students are considered “present” on e-learning Fridays if they log into Canvas or a Zoom meeting and/or turn in work.
Attending In School Information
- Check your child's School Dismissal Manager to make sure it shows your child's mode of transportation after school is still want you want.
- Tardy Bell in the morning is 9:50. Please plan on having your child here by 9:40 if they are car riders. Bus riders will have the same bus pick-up time as they did in November before we went to Virtual teaching
- Car Riders are released to go home at 3:15. Please plan on being in the car rider lane by 3:10. Teachers will bring your student out to your car. To expedite this process, it is helpful to put your yellow sign on the dash of your front passenger side of car. Bus riders will be dismissed at 3:30
- The office is open from 9:15-3:45 Monday-Friday
If you have any question, please feel free to contact the office at 317-594-4160.
Message from our PTO
Despite the unprecedented circumstances of this school year, the Fishers Elementary
community has joined together to support our school staff, teachers, and students. The PTO has raised $2314 so far this year through your support of Spirit Wear sales ($790), Amazon Smile ($60), and Kroger Rewards ($1464).
We have used these funds, in addition to surplus money from last year’s fundraisers, to purchase 12 convertible desk-benches for students and teachers to utilize for outdoor learning, FES Tiger tshirts for all Kindergartners, new students, and new staff, Tiger Pride tshirts for our fourth grade students, and a new Keurig machine for the staff. At the beginning of the school year, teachers were provided with teacher assistance funds to purchase needed items for their classroom, and in December, the PTO was happy to treat our hardworking school staff with a catered holiday lunch.
School parents are invited to attend our next PTO meeting (via Zoom) on Tuesday, February 9 at 7 pm . Mr. Behrman will be available for a Q&A session at the meeting. Look for Zoom details in future Tiger Tails newsletters.
Thank you again for all your support of the Fishers PTO. Go Tigers!

Reporting COVID
Parents and Families,
The online reporting process for Covid situations has been working well and helps the district to track the spread and impact of Covid on our schools. Over winter break, if you become aware of an exposure of positive test in your family, please respond to this form rather than sending and email or making a phone call to school.
Thank you for your support in this!
