Park Terrace Elementary
April 7, 2021 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Families!
It is hard to believe but there are only nine weeks of school remaining this year! We have an opportunity for a good, long stretch of learning before students begin their summer!
It truly has been beautiful the past week, and I love seeing our students here at school getting the chance to learn and play outside. Coach Downs has been bringing out the gym classes. Mr. Jay has been teaching music outside. Our teachers are bringing students outdoors to read a book. Our second graders are growing sunflower seeds. It is just wonderful watching our staff and students embracing this early spring and having unique learning opportunities outside.
Last week we sent out important messaging to our third and fourth grade families regarding the MCA tests this year. For our Extended Flexible Learning families, if you have not done so already, please complete the following form to indicate your preference for your student: MCA Form. Today, April 7 is the due date to complete this questionnaire. For in-person families, if you would like to opt out of MCA testing this year, please send an email to lcole@district16.org or contact the Park Terrace office at 763-600-5600. Below are the dates students in third and fourth grades will be taking the MCA tests this year:
- Math MCA: Tuesday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 28, Extra/Make-up April 29 and 30
- Reading MCA: Tuesday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 5, Extra/Make-up May 6 and 7
As you all well know the health and safety of our students, staff and community has been of the utmost importance to our district this year. Please continue to do a daily health screening before sending students to school. If a student has any symptoms, they need to stay home. We are closely tracking the news of variants and their spread and we ask everyone to be diligent in preventing the spread of COVID and help keep learning going at school with as few interruptions as possible.
As I have so often said to our Park Terrace community this school year: Thank you for all of the support you have given to our students and staff this year! Let’s finish the year strong!
