West Weekly Update
Volume 12, Issue 17, 12/12/21
From the desk of Mr. Jolliffe
Staff – We will celebrate the holidays on Wednesday, December 15th from 12:45-1:45PM in the cafeteria with our annual Chili Cook-off. We will have enough chili for all staff to get a bowl. Along with chili, we will also have a sweet treat to even out the heat. Come on down and enjoy the festivities.
The struggle is real and I want to thank each of you for making it to this point in the year. We all need this upcoming break to rest and recharge for second semester. Please take this time to enjoy your family and make new memories. You work hard and deserve the rewards of this work. Happy Holidays!
If you have kids with D’s and F’s I expect that calls, texts, emails have been made. An actual contact with the family is required. We have to extend multiple chances to catch our kids when they are ready to learn and take advantage of the help.
Teachers if you are planning to be off on Friday you need to have your grades completed and confirmed before you leave on Thursday. Make sure you double check with Amanda Stephenson to ensure your grades have posted. Paras you will work half your hours on Friday. Please get with your teachers and work through a checklist of things they need completed. You can also review your IEP at a glance and prepare for next semester supports.
This week is full of events. We host basketball on Tuesday and they go to East on Thursday. Wrestling caps of the week at the BC invite on Saturday. Monday we have our holiday instrumental concert in the auditorium at 7PM. Mayberry middle school will join us and we expect this to be a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Our vocal students will perform their holiday concert on Wednesday at 7PM. Our students would love to perform for you and get you in the holiday spirit.
We will have a short faculty meeting on Tuesday at 3:25 in the auditorium to reward our good apple award winners and go over a few essential items. Please sign-in and show your appreciation to your fellow staff members.
When you return we will start our in-service in the library. Please report to the library on Jan 4th at 8:00AM.
