Roadrunner Report
By Ms. Benitez, Principal, Monroe May Elementary
LEARNING IS HAPPENING!
We have jumped into learning! Students have already used our science lab, and will be soon using the May-kery! Students are back in the routine and are engaged in their learning! ATTENDANCE IS KEY TO SUCCESS! School starts at 7:40 am, the tardy bell rings at 7:45 am. Dismissal is at 2:55 pm. There's a lot of learning happening every day!
We are happy to announce a new re-vamped opportunity for PARENTS. In an effort to increase parental involvement, we are changing our Parent Cafecitos. These may have been seen as more of a social opportunity. They still will be, but with a bigger purpose. We will have learning opportunities for parents and family to learn how and what students are learning. Look out for information about MAYking Connections / Conexiones. The first session will be in early October with the time to be right after students are dropped off at 8 am.

CAREER DAY
Fathers & Father-figures, we need YOU!
We'd like to have more father-figures volunteer for our WATCH D.O.G.S program. This is a great way to have another pair of "safety eyes" around campus. You can volunteer for a half day or a full day just once a year. We have an easy schedule for the day. This schedule includes two brief visits to volunteer in your child's classroom. Our kids love seeing their dad at school! You get presented on our morning announcements, and a picture with your child(ren) which is posted on our Watch D.O.G.S. wall. Even a half day can make a big impact on our students. Contact them here: maywatchdog@gmail.com
