The Falcon Flyer
The Rea Farms STEAM Academy Family Newsletter
Hello Falcon Families!
We hope that you had a great Spring Break! We really enjoyed all the pictures posted in our Facebook Group of the kids seeing new places, family members, and friends. We have come so far from last April! Do you remember looking for Teddy Bears in the windows of your neighbors during our Quarantine Spring Break? How about making a stained glass window on your fence?
As many of you noticed this morning when dropping off your students, we no longer have to take temperatures as students enter the building or to complete the weekly bus attestation form. We will continue to complete the question screeners as students enter the building. Have those green checks ready! We do ask you to continue to be vigilant. Please consider all changes in health as possible Covid-19 symptoms. Sometimes in children, it may just be an upset stomach or even a cold. Most of the time it is nothing but we can't be too careful. We will continue to make you aware of incidents where your child may have been exposed (we personally call) or just for information, you will will receive a Connect 5 if we have a case at the school.
Thank you to the parents that completed the School Leadership Team (SLT) Survey! We had over 100 families submit feedback on the communication, customer service, and the academic and social emotional instruction at Rea Farms STEAM. Our SLT reviewed every response and will take the feedback into consideration as we plan for the 21-22 school year. We will continue to grow as a school in what we hope to be a "normal" year!
Happy Spring!

The Shadow a Student Challenge is a crash course in empathy that starts with seeing school through a student's eyes. It helps school leaders find meaningful opportunities to improve the experience for students, and take insight-driven action to create change at their schools.

Beginners Day
Do you have a soon-to-be Kindergartener? If so, on April 14th at 6:00 pm, there will be a presentation that will explain how to register your child, what a typical day is like for a Kindergarten student, what to expect the first week, as well as what you can be doing now to help prepare your child for Kindergarten. While there is a lot of information for parents, your child will enjoy seeing the current Kindergarten teachers, the school nurse, and some fun pictures from inside of the building. We hope that you will join us, as we are so excited to welcome our future Falcons in the Fall!

Announcing the LAUNCH of the RFSA All Pro Dad Chapter
As we are all heading into the home stretch of the year, and what a year it has been, we wanted to introduce one more opportunity to get involved in our school community – and this one is for our “dad” community.
Background
When CMS first decided to open RFSA a number of families stepped up to form our PTA. The PTA strives to provide our diverse student group and families as many opportunities as possible to participate in our school community. One area our PTA invested in is an initial membership in the All Pro Dads Organization.
What is All Pro Dads?
All Pro Dads is a program focused on helping get dads involved in their school community. For more information on the organization, or to join our RFSA chapter, please check out our website at: https://allprodadchapters.com/chapters/12264
Next steps?!
We need YOU! As we launch our chapter we are looking for male volunteers to help run programs with our chapter lead Tom McQueary. We are ready to begin programming ASAP!
Please register at the link above and then reach out to Tom McQueary (Thomas.McQueary@gmail.com) if you are interested in helping to support the launch of our brand new chapter!

(To see the video recap, you can go to: www.tinyurl.com/bf-year-one-review.) You made a huge positive difference in so many families in our area! Your generosity and love towards our neighbors is so inspiring!
