Tahoe Valley Times

Keeping Up with the Thunderbirds

October 8, 2021 Edition #chillyweather

Now that fall is here, the weather is getting cooler. Today we started the day with a little rain and Monday there is a slight chance for snow. Brrr! With the changing weather, please be sure your child comes to school with a warm jacket, snow pants, gloves, and shoes for inclement weather. Even if it's cold, we will still try to get out in the fresh air as much as possible unless it's pouring. Isn't Tahoe beautiful?

Along with the changes in the weather, we are also changing our family newsletter day to Fridays. This will allow families to have any information needed for the following week. We hope you are enjoying the Tahoe Valley Times!

Picture Day is coming October 13th!

Thank you for your patience with changing picture days. With our late start it was looking like November, but we were lucky to snag Wednesday!

Speaking of fall, Mrs. Abelow's third grade class created some incredible fall art this week! Check out some of the their beautiful trees!

It was also so fun to hear the buzz and excitement around books in our library this week! Ms. Stimac does an amazing job connecting our students to books and providing time for students to just READ.

Communication

Communication is very important in any successful organization, and my goal is that families always feel well -informed about everything Tahoe Valley. This Monday we are launching our all new Tahoe Valley Facebook page where we will share information and celebrate our students and school community! You can find us at: facebook.com/TVThunderbirds

Also, as your principal, my door is always open. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I appreciate your feedback and look forward to connecting this year!

Safety Reminders

Masks Required Indoors

Just a reminder that masks are required indoors at all times regardless of vaccination status at all schools. If you need to come in the office for any reason, masks are required. We have masks available if you need one. (Masks are optional outdoors.)

At this time, volunteers are not allowed on campus.

If your child is not feeling well in the morning, please contact the office and do not send them to school.

Thank you for helping us stay safe!

Parking Lot

Overall, this is getting smoother every day! As a reminder, if you are in the car line, please stay in your car and we will bring your student to you. If you want to walk up, please park in our lower lot or in one of the spaces. In the morning we will open your car door, welcome your child, and help them get where they need to go. Thank you!
