Transportation Change Reminder
Please remember that the only transportation changes allowed this year are bus to car due to limited space on the bus.
Drop-off Temperature Checks Helpful Tips
- Make sure hoods and/or hats are not on your child's head before pulling into drop-off line;
- Turn down the car heater or roll down the window before arriving at a staff member;
- Have masks and backpacks on as students are exiting the vehicle.
This will help ensure that the temperature readings are accurate and the lines moves quickly so that students are in their classrooms ready to learn each day at 7:35 am.

Gifted and Talented Screening Referrals
You can find the permission form by clicking here:
http://www.lagovistaisd.net/upload/page/0060/docs/LVISD%20GT%20Referral_2018.pdf
In order to uphold safety protocols, students who are referred for G/T screening this fall will be tested on the afternoon of December 2nd, which is an early release day. Transportation will need to be arranged by parents. Parents who submit a referral for testing will receive additional information via email.
Students who are identified for the G/T program will immediately begin receiving classroom differentiation and virtual lessons and will begin receiving face-to-face services when they resume for all students (likely in the fall of 2021-2022).

Hello LVES Families! This has been a fun month of learning about Respect and Red Ribbon Week! Our Red Ribbon Week activities are fun reminders for students to respect themselves and make good choices. At the elementary level we mainly focus on understanding that there is a difference between good and bad drugs, making positive choices, and doing your best to have self-respect by taking good care of yourself. Students also signed our No Place for Hate Resolution of Respect, which states, “I promise to do my best to treat everyone fairly; I promise to do my best to be kind to everyone--even if they are not like me; If I see someone being hurt or bullied I will report it to an adult; Everyone at school should be able to feel safe and happy at school; and I want our school to be No Place for Hate.”
Thank you for supporting our efforts to encourage all students to respect themselves and others!
“Perhaps the surest test of an individual's integrity is his refusal to do or say anything that would damage his self-respect.” ~Thomas S. Monson
~Thomas S. Monson
