Special Education/504

Teachers of scholars in SKILL are sending lessons and resources directly to each scholar/parent in an effort to reinforce learning and reduce regression. Case Managers will send information directly to parents regarding goals.

Counselor Johnson will contact the parents of scholars who have Annual or Review 504 Meetings currently scheduled.

From our Cedar Hill ISD Special Education Department
    • Scholars who receive support in the general education setting can use the following online tools that can be found on the Special Education Resources page. Scholars can use their google login to access the accounts. Also, a Google Classroom has been set up to provide in-class support, and it will be available Monday-Friday (9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.); here is the link for the google classroom In-Class Support and the classroom code is xro6cdo (it is also listed above with all Flex Google Classrooms). Technology resources include:

      • Co-Writer Universal

      • Snap & Read

    • For our scholars who receive services in our SKILL setting, parents can utilize the at- home access of Unique Learning System. Parents should use the link N2Y to register as a parent for the free access. Also, social stories are available, and attachments are included in this newsletter.

    • For scholars who receive Speech and Related Services, all missed services will be tracked in a Google Sheet to ensure IEP compliance upon returning back to school. Parents will be notified, and we will address if there is a need for compensatory services.

    • The district’s Special Education Department will contact the parents of scholars who were scheduled to have Admission, Review, or Dismissal Meeting during the closure to propose alternative methods to hold the meeting to ensure we are within timelines set forth by IDEA.
