Interviewing Mrs. Krueger by Max Klein and Addyson Orth
Mrs.Krueger loves her job because she like to see kids read books and learn. Mrs.Krueger chose this profession because she like to work with kids and she want to move back where her family was and she thought it would be a good job. She received her college degree at USD Vermillion. She has been teaching for 15 years. For her students to make her job easier is to not talk when the teacher is talking and read books. Her favorite books are the Biscuit books. In her spare time she likes to read, camp, and watch ball games. If she and her family would go on a vacation they would go to Guy’s Diner Drive Ins and Dives. Thank you for reading our story and have a good day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! By: Nichelle Kruse and Garrett Aldrich
On St. Patrick’s day we wear green. We think of shamrocks and leprechauns. Something I think everyone knows is that shamrocks are from Ireland.
But did you know that people used to think that if you wear green, leprechauns won’t bother you? This was done long enough that it became part of the holiday tradition to wear green.
When you catch a leprechaun you have to hold it, stare at it, and demand it’s gold. In fourth grade the kids made leprechaun traps. A simple trap is covering a box inside and out with green paper, then cover it with gold glitter and lucky charms. Add a ladder so the leprechaun can climb the box. Pile shiny stuff in the box. Make sure that the box is too high for him to jump out. Although, the fourth graders didn’t catch any leprechauns they did get gold (treats). We hope you had a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! photo from pinterest
Oh My, Pie!!!!!!!! By: Mercedes & Kate
Oh my pie, we chose a few kids from K-6 grade to see what their favorite kind of pie is. Their choices were Apple, Cherry, and Pumpkin. But there are a whole lot of other kinds too. After asking each kid which type of pie kids liked best we learned that pumpkin is the most popular type of pie among the group of kids we asked. The Greeks were some of the first people to ever make pie although pie is said to have been around since the ancient Egyptians. The early Romans learned about pie from the Greeks. The next time you make pie remember how long it's been around.

At least we are thinking Spring! I want to thank everyone who attended conferences in March. We had a 96% turn out. If you were unable to attend please contact your teacher to set up a phone conference or meeting. You are your child's first teacher and we value your input and communication.
Testing season is upon us. Starting the second week in April upper elementary students will begin taking the Smarter Balance assessment. Teachers will be informing you of those dates. Lower elementary students will be taking the NWEA/MAPS assessment towards the end of April into May. Your support in keeping your child well rested and positive talk will do wonders for them. Spring gets busy for all of us. Students K-6 are making Do Your Best on the Test posters to encourage and inspire one another. Poster show was created by Kaitlyn Braun.
Keep yourself well informed by reading the Daily Bulletin and your teacher's newsletter.
