Oster's Math Olympiad Team Receives Highest Honors!
In August, Oster's Math Olympiad Team received a plaque honoring them with the highest team achievements. Though the final tournament was canceled due to COVID-19, the team was challenged periodically during the school year with 5 timed exams. Oster was found to be in the top 10% of almost 3000 schools participating in the Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS)!
I would like to thank the volunteers for spending their time teaching and reviewing homework and Mrs. Yu for allowing them to use the library for after school practice. Additionally, I would like to thank the parents for helping their children tackle these challenging concepts.
#Go Cougars
We had a great turnout for our first monthly Cougar Science Quiz with over 140 students registered to participate. Missed the first quiz? No problem. The next Quiz will open on Monday, October 26 and students can register any time by visiting the Cougar Science Quiz page on the HSC website.

Oster's Dine Out Night is this Wednesday!
Thank Oster's Hard Working Teachers!
Oster HSC invites you to participate in our yearly Staff Appreciation project. Last year we asked families to donate snacks and drinks and notes of encouragement to have in the staff room. It was a huge success, and so appreciated by all of our Oster staff! This year we would like to continue that tradition, but on a more distanced level. We are asking families to click the link HERE to access the Oster Spirit Store and donate funds using the Staff Appreciation purchase button. This money will be used just like last year, but we will do the shopping for you! Let’s show our appreciation to the Oster Staff!
Be sure to check out the Oster HSC website for our October Newsletter!

Teaching Children How to Stay Safe and Healthy
Our District Nurse has compiled some excellent resources for families that are good reminders for all of us to stay safe and healthy. View the flyer for a collection of resources and videos to review the importance of handwashing, wearing a face covering, staying home when you're sick, and additional information for parents and guardians in supporting your child.
