What an exciting start to 2023!


  • Next week we renew our annual 8th grade Disney trip, after a 3 year pause!
  • Our band placed 12 students in the All-State band! That's more All-State members than 4 of the 6 state regions combined!
  • We had three of our basketball teams playing in the four AOP Championship games this weekend! 8th grade girls and 8th grade boys both won the conference!
  • Soon, we will welcome our rising 6th graders on campus to meet a new group of future Panthers.

Academic Updates

8th grade IGP Meetings

It is a State requirement that every 8th grade student have an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) that includes the parent having a brief face-to-face conference with the student’s school counselor. At this meeting, you will receive general information about your student’s academic planning as well as career exploration information specific to your student. Please note that this is NOT a course selection conference for selecting their courses for next year. Use the link (https://signup.com/go/SFDZfRc) or the QR code to register.

7th grade Job Shadowing

All 7th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in job shadowing on March 10th. Students will be required to obtain permission to shadow from a supervising adult and complete a reflection of the day to get counted as present for the school day. Additional information will be sent home in the coming weeks.

Clubs and Organizations

Region Band Festival

Several RCE band students will be participating in the Region Band Festival on February 18th at Furman University. Best of luck as these students represent our school!

Beta Club

Beta Club is holding a drive during the month of February for PAWS—an animal shelter in need of donations. Please see the flyer attached for donation information and the number of hours that can be earned through participating.


Those students who signed up for the Sweetheart Dance, Clemson Elementary's International Festival, and STEAM night need to make sure they honor those time frames that they signed up for by being on time and ready to help! Please make sure they bring their log sheets with them to these events so that they can get a signature.


All service hours are due by May 17th. Please make sure your students are taking advantage of all the opportunities we are pushing out to them.


If your student missed our February meeting they need to see Mrs. Brewer in order to receive their t-shirt.

AOP Championship


Congratulations to both the boys and girls 8th grade basketball teams for winning the AOP championship on Saturday, February 4th. We are so proud of our players and coaches for the hard work and determination they put in this season!


Booster Club


The RC Edwards Athletic Booster Club supports all student athletic programs by purchasing equipment, uniforms, meals, maintenance, and many other things. PTSO Updates:

Thank you to those who donated to the "NO SALE Fundraiser". PTSO was able to collect over $1,000! These funds will go directly to supporting the students and teachers at RCE.


It's not too late to join the PTSO. Please help us to continually make the 2022-23 school year a memorable one by joining the PTSO.

Regular Bell Schedule

As a reminder, we operate on a 6-period day at Edwards Middle. This schedule allows for 1 hour in each period and the opportunity to participate in several related arts classes. This schedule has also allowed us to include several Pickens County Career and Technology courses for our 8th graders during second semester.

This year will be asking all families interested in buying a Yearbook to please go to the Josten's website to make this purchase. A limited quantity of Yearbooks will be for sale on the day of Yearbook distribution. Reserve your copy in advance!

Free and Reduced Lunch Application

Families must apply above to qualify for free or reduced lunches. Only one entry needed per family.

Schoology Parent Resources

These documents provide information about creating an account, adding students to existing accounts, and setting up your parent account in Schoology.

SDPC Communication App

If you haven't already, make sure that you download the new SDPC App to get the most up-to-date information for SDPC and RCE.

Bus Transportation Application

This form needs to be completed for all students who need bus transportation. Transportation will use this information to determine routes.
