Peek At The Week
August 24, 2018
Team,
Yesterday I sent out an email to you all reminding you of a few things...things that will sustain you all year long. First, know your WHY....Why did you become a teacher/educator? Second, set goals and grow where you are going. Third, know your students...share your story and LISTEN to theirs. Of course, this is just a few highlights of the article I sent. Remember, you must know yourself before you can get to know and grow others.
Thank you for awarding 14,281 pieces of GOLD! When you catch a student being safe, responsible and respectful, give them one! It is so much more powerful than punitive. Think about what motivates you more...praise or punishment?
As we get ready for this year in Improvement Required (IR), you must know that practice will be changing. If what we were doing worked, we would not be in IR. A growth mindset is necessary for success. We will make the changes to improve our academic teaching and learning. This begins with Backward Design and Higher Order Thinking Questions. Instructional Coaches will design instruction that include all of the above. Thank you in advance for your appropriate delivery!

Moving Minds- Instruction and Academics
Much better 100% this week! Remember proximity when teaching. Teach on your feet, not from your seat. This gives you an opportunity to connect with students!
Moving Bodies- Operations and Logistics
- Thank you for being in the hallways at the bell. Student Safety is important and it takes all of us!
- Positive phone calls are to be made within the first 30 days of school. Do a few each day and you can get it done!
