December News
A note from Mrs. Leonard...
Thank you all for a great Fall! It's hard to believe that winter is upon us. I wish all of our Waverly Families a happy, healthy holiday season and an even better new year!
Mrs. Leonard
Traffic Reminder:
Please remember to form two lines on each side of the parking lot in the morning for drop off. We seem to be causing some congestion on Waverly Road in the morning. If we form two lines and merge into one we will make the morning commute a lot easier for our community. Thank you for your cooperation.

PTA News
Due to the busy season, we have decided to cancel the December PTA meeting, Here are upcoming events/information that we want you to be aware of:
· All aboard for our first ever Polar Express Movie Night at Waverly Elementary! Please join us on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 6-8 PM at Waverly Elementary gym for a fun filled night! The Waverly PTA will provide a showing of The Polar Express movie, serve hot chocolate, donuts, and popcorn, and have a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus! Abington Heights High School students will also be running a toy drive. Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C49ADAF2DA5FDC43-46008675-polar
· The Scholastic Book Fair was a success. We had over $4,000 in sales! Every teacher was able to pick out books for their classroom that we purchased with our scholastic dollars (money earned based on book sales).
· After the huge success of the Club Waverly’s production of Willy Wonka, Mrs. Pasternak would like to get the Waverly Students together to watch opening day of Wonka at the movie theatre. In order to make this work, we need at least 80 people. Tentative plans are for December 16, 2023, in the early afternoon. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the following form. If you would like to join but are unavailable on that date, please fill out the form and let us know! We would love to make Waverly at the Movies happen! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScgVfEBl_PAVax8ce8N3kumUliZGj1j2AtsczcJNLBEv2wBzg/viewform?usp=sf_link
· Holiday Parties will be on December 22nd. Keep an eye out for an email or letter from your homeroom parents regarding volunteering and collection for teacher gifts. Please make sure to respond quickly if you are hoping to volunteer!
