Principals' Message

Hello Rockledge Families,

It has been an AMAZING school year for the Rockledge community. Your teachers have found JOY in just having you back here in-person everyday. We have all learned that there is so much strength and enjoyment that comes from working together.

Students you have GROWN, we have seen awesome growth rates in your reading. Do not stop, just 20-30 minutes a day this summer will take you on amazing reading adventures in a book, and you will continue to grow as a reader.

Families, THANK YOU! You have been patient as we navigated this much needed return to learning in person. You have given of your time through volunteering and making sure OUR children were being supported full circle in their learning.

We wish each of you well this summer and will miss you all dearly.

Summer Reading: EVERYDAY

Why Should Students Read During The Summer?

The purpose of the PWCS Summer Reading Program is to encourage students to enjoy quality literature and to continue developing their independent reading skills. Summer is a great time for students to read for pleasure and dive deep into their favorite genre or experience something new. Providing students with a choice in what they read increases their reading motivation and engagement.

Benefits to support the summer reading leap:

  • Build vocabulary
  • Develop reading skills
  • Enjoy new stories
  • Learn new information
