Self Esteem and our Children
If you walk around our school you will see motivational signs like the one above throughout the halls. Our students are learning about positive self talk, supporting each other, and problem solving when things don't go the way we expect.
A child's self esteem is always evolving, and is a critical part of their development. We proactively focus on self esteem with our children so that they recognize their value and feel ready to take on any challenges that come their way.
From Kids Health site,:
Kids who feel good about themselves have the confidence to try new things. They are more likely to try their best. They feel proud of what they can do. Self-esteem helps kids cope with mistakes. It helps kids try again, even if they fail at first. As a result, self-esteem helps kids do better at school, at home, and with friends.
Kids with low self-esteem feel unsure of themselves. If they think others won't accept them, they may not join in. They may let others treat them poorly. They may have a hard time standing up for themselves. They may give up easily, or not try at all. Kids with low self-esteem find it hard to cope when they make a mistake, lose, or fail. As a result, they may not do as well as they could.

VARIETY SHOW!!!!
Safety Drills at Blue Ash Elementary
Recently the Sycamore Community observed the 20th anniversary of the tornado tragedy that devastated portions of the Blue Ash and Montgomery communities.
With peak tornado season upon us, we would like to include tornado safety tips shared by the Red Cross.
At Blue Ash Elementary we routinely practice all drills throughout the year so that our students and staff feel prepared for whatever safety decisions we may need to make. Because we know that children cannot always remember the various responses that we have for different situations, our consistent message to our students is to listen to the adult in charge and calmly follow directions.
Please take some time to talk with your children about how to be safe in all areas of our community.
Volunteers Needed For COPE
We are seeking adult volunteers for the "Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE)" learning activity on the Professional Development Day, April 22nd. There is eventbrite link for the volunteer to sign -up.
