HMS WIG (Wildly Important Goal)
8th Grade PreGame Party
We are officially back into the swing of things, and we are so excited about our new 8th grade class! Here at Hughes, we have several traditions that are exclusive to the 8th grade students.
Our first event is the 8th Grade Pregame Party, where we will celebrate Burleson High School’s Homecoming!!! While entry is free, we do sell t-shirts and concessions pre-sale! PACK teachers will begin collecting money from August 22nd- September 10th. Your student was provided with the form in PACK, but we have attached one just in case. Please email:
email@example.com with any additional questions or concerns. GO HUSKIES!
each year we run in to situation where students are not published in the annual/yearbook due to the responses made with on-line registration. In order for student awards - such as student of the month, activity awards, contest winners - to be published, "yes" to district publishing must be marked.
We do not want to leave any student out of the yearbook and want to acknowledge all students achievement. Please double-check on your Skyward account that you do in deed wish for your child's information to be published within the district - to include the websites.
Traffic Flow Concerns
We want to thank all Hughes family members who have worked with us through the new drop off and pick up process. We appreciate everyone's patience as we get through the first week of school.
Please note that we need everyone to adhere to the traffic flow map posted on the HMS website, as well as sent via the Parent newsletter, Twitter, and Facebook.
Here are several concerns:
*The front horseshoe drive is no longer a drop off/pick up zone. This area is only if you are needing to visit the front office.
*The parallel parking on Thomas is only for parking. Please do not use this area for dropping off students.
*Please do not stop on Thomas for your child to be dropped off.
*Please do not enter the south drive by the tennis courts. This area is for staff and buses only. The exception to this is for band student before 7:30.
*Please pull up all the way to the front of the drive when picking up or dropping off.
We ask for these traffic concerns to be fixed for the safety of our students, staff, and parents.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.
