*Bulldog Spotlight* Theme: Holiday Happiness
With the winter holiday season right around the corner, festive delights are now starting to fill the air. Even while keeping a safe distance this year, the colorful sights, cheerful sounds, and comforting smells will still bring a special spark to the crisp city air.
This month, we want to know: what is your child's favorite part of the holiday season?
Is it the taste of freshly baked gingerbread cookies, straight out of the oven? Or maybe it's building the first snowman of the season? Send their answer and a photo of their smiling face (feel free to get creative here to incorporate the theme) to Mrs. Smith at jsmith@northwoodcs.org. The most stand-out submissions will be featured in the Bulldog Blast sent out during the last week before Winter Recess.
Grades K-2 Magic Workshop Assembly: Tomorrow!
We appreciate families' feedback about bringing in more opportunities for creative engagement and fun during virtual learning, especially for our youngest students. With this in mind, we are excited to be hosting a magic workshop assembly TOMORROW (Thursday, December 3rd) at 11:30 am for grades K-2.
If your child would like to try the magic tricks at home or be featured trying a trick on screen during the workshop, here is a list of household items that will be used to perform the tricks if you would like to help them prepare in advance:
- A banana (or dinner roll or piece of soft fruit), a fork and a cloth napkin, bandana or paper towel
- A ziplock bag and a pair of scissors
- A brown paper lunch bag or small paper bag and piece of candy
- Crayons
- A deck of cards and scissors
- A quarter
Grades 3-5 and 6-8 Assemblies: 12/16
Grades 3-5: The bGreat Show
Through magic, comedy, story-telling, and audience participation, students will learn about Anti-Bullying, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility, Caring, and Citizenship.
